Body Works : The Beginning

Here are the some examples of the paintings I created during my studies at the Université du Québec en Outaouais.  Keep in mind that I had no formal art training prior to my University studies.  In the beginning you can see that the figure is still present.  Later, abstract paintings were created by using the idea of different textures from within the body.  For example ink for blood; plaster and cheesecloth for ligaments; cracked clay for flesh; and the wooden frame for the skeleton.  These works are very textured and large in size.  None of these works exist today.  Having chosen to live a minimalist lifestyle, and choosing not to pay for storage when traveling, all of these works have been destroyed.
